Re: work from home stuff
The work at home businesses you see advertised on TV (ya know the ones "I made 20,000 dollars last month!!) are scams.
I do know someone who has spent allot of time checking these type of businesses out, and for the life of me, can't remember the website he uses to check for fraud complaints but I'm sure a few googles will turn it up or a site like it.
I do market research for one company, but they only pay 5$ per survery, but the checks arrive in just a few days, and most often I also get the full size product to try, and another follow up $5 survey. I get maybe 4 to 10 surveys a month from them and it's membership is by invitation only.
I can hook you up with them on their next member recruitment drive if you would like.
Other surveys pay $1 to $3 per survey and it can take quite a while before you ever see the check and most often their surveys will pay you with a kind of sweepstakes entry, like...do this survey and you will be entered into a drawing where 5 people will win $100. Another market survey business I do pays much better, $10 to $20 in Amazon gift certificates, but these surveys only come around every month or so.
IF you have a good source for anything in quanity wholesale or below wholesale, amazon marketplace is good, and of course there's ebay.
If you want to sell from your own website, like Avon, etc...there are risks, hackers will often pick on very small business and their sites to get credit card info.

all good info chazzy... but i guess i was thinking more in terms of like tuperware parties or such. not neccessarily online. i'll probably look into the survey things for myself even... might not be bad.

I've never done the tuperware/avon thing, so I just told you about what I do know...taking online surveys, most don't pay much at all.

Re: work from home stuff
Oh just a minute...I do know someone who does this at home side business, it's a childrens party thing, where they get to stuff and make thier own teddy bears....fluff 'n stuff franchise, I think it costs about 130 bucks to get the start up kit, then you host childrens parties in your home, or pack it up and travel to their location.
Don't know how much income they generate from this though.
I guess that would depend on how much effort you put into it.
