hurricane blues
Our Electricity is out and has been since yesterday morning, the 26th.

We had lots of tree damage, but thankfully, neither of our houses was hurt!

We had to go to the library to check our Emails and thought we'd let ya know what's goin on.
We'll be back on as soon as power is restored, we miss talking to everyone.

Don't lose my place!! Don't forget me!

Re: hurricane blues
Hurricanes are the reason we up here in Virginia refer to you down there as Floridiots. Hope you didn't get too badly smashed. i have a lot of friends that lost a ton to these hurricanes.

Re: hurricane blues
you may think that we are "floridiots" for living down here, but florida is a beautiful state and gets hit by hurricanes on average, less than either, Georgia, Louisiana, North & South Carolina and Texas.
This is the first time that we have been hit by this many hurricanes in one season. EVER.
90 percent of the time we have tropical storms.
Going through a hurricane is no different than being stuck in your home during a blizzard or a tornado, and does just as much damamge as a hurricane can do, or that floods can do in a rainy season.
Florida has a high pressure system that usually sits right over top of us and keeps the "canes away.
Yes, this is a difficult time for our state and a lot of people have been hurt by them. We will bounce back, we always do.
I would not want to live anywhere else. Where else(other than Cali) do you never have to worry about freezing to death or being trapped in your home by 5 feet of snow? I lived up North before and it's not much fun in the winter.

No, we personally didn't get a lot of damamge, but we know a lot of people who did and we have been out to help them cleanup.

Talk to y'all soon.

Pepper, I lived in Miami and Orlando for a couple of years and never witnessed a hurricane OR a tropical storm. You're absolutely right, this has been a very strange year weatherwise. Here in Texas we only had one 100 degree day. That is EXTREMELY

Sheisse! Did it again!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

What I was trying to say is....

And it's nice to see that the people hurt by the huricanes aren't rioting like they are in Haiti. Very civil *smile*

I will all of y'all the best of luck with the clean up.

I love the snow, I love seeing my family in the winter, and playing in it.
No insult to anyone intended,I just meant that, no matter WHERE you live, there is some kind of weather situation to deal with at sometime.
I just felt kind of hurt to be called a "floridiot".
We just lost some trees and our fence. No home damage for either of us.But there are a lot of people who lost a lot, we were just some of the lucky ones.

No insult taken...And I would be hurt if someone called me that also...Too many people have been hurt by the storm and being called a name doesnt make any others feel better...

As long as your safe the rest is meaningless. Your right about the fact that most areas have there weather issues. Be it wind, water of fire, Mother Nature has the last word. So help those that need it and come back and play whe you can

Thanks, everyone, for all the good wishes and thoughts.

I don't think that any hurt was intended, I guess it just hit me the wrong way.
As you can see, our power is back on and we are back online.
We'll be around tonight!

I understand your hurt, Pepper... but I"m sure she was just trying to be funny, and didn't really mean anything by it. Florida is a beautiful place, and so is Missouri, tornados and all.
