Netflix or Blockbuster
Just wondering how many of us use one of these for DVD rentals, I just started with the free trial from both and once the trial is over with, I'll choose on over the other.
Only been using them a week, but Blockbuster seems a little slower with the recieve previous movie, ship out next on queue.
Any one have a bad or good review to offer?

A friend of mine used both and he like Blockbuster better. His reasons were that he could drop the movies off at the store, and pick some more up at the store right away. He also said that he gets the deliveries the next day if he drops off the movies at the store, but that's probably because they have a warehouse nearby.

I've thought about trying NETFLIX, but all in all, I don't watch very many movies so it probably wouldn't work out for me.
I do use RED BOX. It's a vending machine, located in my local supermarket, that has 30 of the latest dvd's. I swipe my debit card and my card is charged $1.06 per 24 hour rental. If I keep a movie longer than 1 day, my debit card is charged accordingly. I return the movie by inserting it into the same machine . There are no lines to wait in and no dumb ass clerk to jaw with. The only down side is, RED BOX does not offer any older dvd's. If I want to rent one of those, I hit BLOCKBUSTER.

I don't use either of them. It is so rare that we rent a movie, that it wouldn't be prudent. We will buy it at like Wal-Mart or something when they are on sale.

I'm a rural hillybilly girl, so the nearest Blockbuster store is about an hour away, and since my town doen't even have a stop light yet, (when everyone drives tractors, who needs 'em?) I doubt I'll be seeing any of the Red Boxes anytime soon!
I have to solely rely on online ordering and the local mail delivery woman, and her daughter who sometims fills in for her during hay baling season, or it's chicken vaccination time, lovely family,good folks......man...I love small town life!!!

Again PTR, RED BOX has nothing but brand new dvd's, no classics or nothing old. Current movies available are BORAT, CASINO ROYALE, ect. Hey, for $1.06, WTF! RED BOX rotates in newer releases every 2 weeks or so.
 The movie studios release the brand new movies on tuesdays for some strange reason.

All movies come out in theaters, or come out on DVD on the same day in their respective group to help aid in tracking the success of the movie based on sales. They will occasionally come out on different days, but their sales data is usually rejected as being non-standard as a basis of comparison.
Even further For high end electronics, the original price of the item only remains in effect to the point that the production cost of of the unit has been recovered. After that, all sales from that production batch is pure profit, allowing the company to lower the cost of the unit. By the time that product line sells out completely, they usually have a new product.

Okay...the two week free trials with both DVD rentals is coming to an end...
As far as renting online, returning and receiving by mail...Netflix rates above Blockbuster for me...Netflix has a far more efficient bar code scanning system for keeping things running smoother and faster!

You hear all kinds of sh*t about BLOCKBUSTER being called on the carpet about their claim that you never have to pay a late fee for a late returned video. That claim is apparently false advertising!! There is no way you could keep a video for a month and not pay a late fee. How could BLOCKBUSTER recover their purchase cost in a reasonable time if everyone returned rented videos a week or more late? Am I explaining this right? Probably not.........
