ode to a sleepless night
Every night, i fight to sleep.
i don't know why, and i makes me wanna cry.
i wanna sleep til morning's light every night.
instead i'll yawn until the break of dawn.
at work, i get so tired, i could be fired.
i'd like to take a nap, but if i get caught, i could get a slap.
i don't know what to do, because i'm missing you. :'(
i fight the sleepiness, but it finally wins.
i drift off to sleep, in one more minute, and i'll be in a sleep that's deep.
the only trouble is, i'm awakend with a bad feeling in my stomach.
i looked at the clock, only to see, that it's barely past three.
Mother Nature likes to call me at odd hours, and i've gotta go pee..
i crawl back into bed, wrestle with the blankets until i find the most comfy position.
i'm felling relaxed, and drift back into sleep, only to hear the alarm clock beep..beep...beep..i hit the snooze. one more minute won't hurt. i'll get up in ten. the alarm rings again, it's time to get up, let a new day begin...
