The Three Stooges
I dunno why...but there are times when I'm channel flippin'...run across a station running these old black and white comedy shorts, and I just have to watch for awhile.
I don't think I'll ever not take a little time to watch some Three Stooges once in awhile.

Re: The Three Stooges
I have to agree Chazzy; I can absolutely have a laughing fit just watching some of those old episodes. I'm sure you're aware there were actually 6 stooges through the course of their fame. Most would probably pick Moe as their favorite; course who could forget Curly's laugh. As for me, I enjoyed Shemp. Here's a lineup I thought you'd enjoy:
Moe Howard
Real Name: Moses Harry Horwitz
Born: June 19, 1897
Died: May 4, 1975 (aged 77)
Stooge years: 1922–1975
Larry Fine
Real Name: Louis Feinberg
Born: October 5, 1902
Died: January 24, 1975 (aged 72)
Stooge years: 1925–1971
Curly Howard
Real Name: Jerome Lester Horwitz
Born: October 22, 1903
Died: January 18, 1952 (aged 48)
Stooge years: 1932–1946
Shemp Howard
Real Name: Samuel Horwitz
Born: March 4, 1895
Died: November 22, 1955 (aged 60)
Stooge years: 1922–1932, 1946–1955
Joe Besser
Born: August 12, 1907
Died: March 1, 1988 (aged 80)
Stooge years: 1956–1958
Joe DeRita
Real Name: Joseph Wardell
Born: July 12, 1909
Died: July 3, 1993 (aged 83)
Stooge years: 1958–1975

Hey, I wear a lot of boots I can relate. Have you ever tried to get some of them off by yourself? There are some that I have that I only wear if I know someone will be home to help me get them off.

Darkshadow had good info. Did you know that when Curly Joe, had a stroke, the 1st pick to replace him was Buddy Hackett? My mother agreed he'd been perfect. The zany little shit. Bless his heart.

Did you know that the last time Curly Howard was on the Three Stooges he played a passenger on a train they were on and he had hair,I think he passed away soon after that show.

Think the hair did him in? I guess they knew he was getting ready to die and wanted him in one more show and maybe that was all he was able to do,maybe the hair was just to see if anyone knew it was him?

Re: The Three Stooges
I loved reading Shadow's post! I did, decades ago read a biography of the Stooges, but so long ago I've forgotten so much about them.
I do recall, that before we had video games to blame the rise of aggressive and violent behavior in children, we blamed the Three Stooges. ( I think I remember cartoons being scrutinized for violent content too)

Think the hair did him in? Curley made a cameo appearance as a passenger on the train in "Hold That Lion " in 1947,he died on Jan.18th 1952 at age 48.

Re: The Three Stooges
Yeah, I checked up on the stooges remake this morning after seeing the trailer for it last night. Sean Hayes (Jack on the Will and Grace TV series) is playing Larry, the actors for Moe and Curly I am not familiar with.
