USING THE FORUMS...THE BASICS
USING THE FORUMS...THE BASICS
For those who are unfamiliar with forums and messages boards, here's the basic summary to get you started.
TOPIC...a topic is the title of a thread, it's what you see in the forum index that tells you what each thread is about.
POST....A post is a topic or reply submitted to the forums.
THREAD...A thread is a topic and all it's replies. (Called a thread because it's a "string" of posts)
If you want to start a new discussion, use the "New Topic" button, if you're reading an existing thread or topic and you want to reply SPECIFICALLY to A PARTICULAR post somewhere in the thread then use the "Quote" button. If you want to just reply to the topic, then just use the "reply" button.
IF you are concerned that you might "mess up"
Not a problem, there is a timed edit feature, once you post, you'll have a short period of time to go back and edit your post. If you post in the wrong forum, or accidently post a reply as a topic, etc....just ask a Moderator to move or fix it for you. We're very happy to help.
We are a friendly forum, no flaming...so no need to worry about a thing! We want your participation.
