Thanks Tease. yes, I have told my doctor about it, but its seems to be the last item on her priority list of health matters. Its a side effect of my diabetes and the medication I am taking. Plus, she wants me on blood pressure meds as well!
What I am finding, is that for me, being impotent gets in the way of emotional attachment. I am interested in bed when a new relationships begins but quickly become turned off. The sex seems so 'one sided', not that it would be that way if I could perform, but lovemaking takes energy and creativity, and spending an hour or two with someone when all you are doing is pleasing her, get tiring very quickly. Then her need for sex becomes a demand in my mind, and it goes downhill from there.
My last three relationships (since Aoril) have all ended the same way - their need for sex and my aversion to it with them! Poor ladies. I think I need to lay off for awhile.
This experience corroberates my long standing theory about male intimacy in a long term relationship . I've always thought that, for most men, emotional intimacy is only attained through lovemaking with a partner. Sex can be only sex, but when intimacy is needed then that is the only way. Women seem to be able to get that emotional intimacy from just talking with friends.
Even in my marriage my need for physical release and emotional intimacy during sex ran on two seperate tracks. Masterbation took care of the former, while the latter only through lovemaking with my wife. I'd get horney and masterbate, and I'd keep doing it every day or two until my wife and I connected.
The lesson I learned? Men NEED sex with their emotional partners, and women NEED to just cuddle and/or talk with their mates.
So, the average penis really isn't that dumb after all. It knows what a guy needs even when he doesn't. Only, mine is a STUPID PENIS!
At least thats my theory, and I'm sticking to it! Here endeth the lesson. Amen!
