Preteding to be the "CHEF" you know who you are,,,,The ones that
Go to the suppermarket deli or nearby carry-out and pick up all the food for dinner, bring it home put it in different containers and slip it in the oven or refrig. right before hubby gets home and when he says "this is delicious hon" you sit back, smile and take all the credit and say "why thank you".

SO,,,I'll take that as a yes! I am the second eldest of nine, always helped mom in the kitchen, also worked in restaurants all through high school to help pay the tuition. Can cook just about anything, also like to bake breads, cakes and pies. But right I have Lasagna in the oven, the package used to say "STOUFFERS" now its in a class pyrex cooking at 375. plus some texas toast, although I did make a nice garden salad, the old lady will be home in about 30 min. Howm I doin so far?

Re: Preteding to be the "CHEF" you know who you are,,,,The ones that
i don't think there is anything wrong with making the "stouffers" lasagna as long as you dont try to sell it as "hours of slaving over a hot oven just for you honey" A little honesty and respect can go a long way in a relationship.

I've always cooked, always had to, sometimes I didn't know what I was cooking, I would just have to draw from my pantry of what I canned the previous year, acepted wild meat, (legal or not) from hunting friends, some foraged wild mushrooms and fruits, a few eggs from the chicken coop, herbs from the garden,

I usually have a freezer full of venison and hopefully another full of trout, perch and walleye. with this stock of staples, all I have to buy is the butter, flour, eggs and potatos to make some pretty fine meals.

Re: Preteding to be the "CHEF" you know who you are,,,,The ones that
There's the proper hunting season for different game, and methods of hunting. Then theres the "I've been laid off, the ole lady's having a difficult pregnancy, and the two little ones we already have gotta eat" season for hunting. The only time hunting is "sport", is when the city guys rent your property, get drunk and and sloppy stoned, shoot something, take just the hind quarter, leave the rest to rot where it sits, take it home, throw away last year's kill to make room in the freezer for this years, The locals, will abide by the letter of the law, unless thier family is hungry, or a friends, or a neighbors family is hungry, and even if it is against the conservation laws, they respect the laws of nature, and never take more than is needed and nothing is wasted.

Re: Preteding to be the
i was married for two years before he found out i used frozen bread dough.

but i cooked everything else all by my little ol self.

nobody in my family will even kill a store-bought live catfish. i thought my daddy would like some fresh catfish, but we ended up naming him "arlo" and putting him in the lake at the park. well, he might of been "arlene", but nobody knew how to check.

absolutly no danger her of breaking game laws. as close as i ever get, is catching snakes that are trespassing. then i give them a good talking to and turn'em loose out in the desert.

Re: Preteding to be the "CHEF" you know who you are,,,,The ones that
I think this topic is pretty hilarious myself. It's funny how people read into things, isn't it? I grew up in a VERY large family. I learned the value of a dollar myself! We never ate out.. didn't have the money to! We ate leftovers frequently!

My wonderful Mother, God rest her soul, she worked her ass off with 8 kids living under the same roof at one time. I only have three. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for her. I helped as much as I could while my brothers went to work with my dad to pay the bills. But I do work my ass off too and yes, I DO cook! There ain't a damn thing wrong with eating out every once in a while.... A little break is good once in a while.

That's my opinion and the last thing I'm gonna say about this subject. If you don't like it, oh well. Go cook a pot roast or something!

*waiting for the backlashing to begin*

Re: Preteding to be the "CHEF" you know who you are,,,,The ones that
I wasnt reading into anything. Just replying with my answer Everyone reads a question differently. And everyone has their own opinions. And you know how topics get changed so quickly..Theres is nothing wrong with anyone eating out. Hell if my kids would do it theres nights Id take um out. After working my ass off all day and being totally exhausted!
Dont think you will get any backlashing..maybe a spankin

One thing I do when my kids are in school...Go to the DQ and get me some onion rings and some frozen slushy strawberry!
I like you chazzy would love to get things prepared for me and the kids but they are so picky they wont eat anything...We go to mc donalds and my daughter will get a bun..no meat nothing..except cheese...so to me its a waste of money to take them guys out!

well on a date i usually gotta leave this little pot hole of a town anyway, so i spend what ever cash i got. just dont see the point of spending 20 bucks on a dinner for myself i can cook at home for 2. and if you stick around, breakfast is a must (then you can come up with a way to thank me)
