It's Electric
Fisker Electric car
In a move that may very well decide the outcome of the electric car wars before they even begin Fisker Automotive today announced that they will be charging $95,900 USD for the base model Karma electric car. This is a price increase of $15,900 USD over its initially stated price (in 2008) and puts the sedan at close to double the cost of its nearest competitor, the Tesla Model S which has a sticker price of $56,400 USD.
How many do I want????

Re: It's Electric
so, how soon after the electric car becomes the norm, will the price of gas drop? then again, gas prices may drop, but the cost of electricity will skyrocket..

Re: It's Electric
I've heard about those. They should look like scizzors---hehe
There's also the Coda electric.
There are many electric cars out there. Phoenix Motorcars sells electric powered truck for $45,000. listed as 130 miles and 95 mph.
Like many things, the battery tech is still developing. Look for another 10 years before a battery powered vehicle can go 400 miles and maintain 65 mph for that time.

Re: It's Electric
Back in the day I'd clock up between 60000 to 80000kms a year in a Semi-truck. Over the years new technology made them safer and better and had a new truck every couple of years or so. I've had various cars and motorcycles too. Now retired I can leave all that behind me and a quarter will take me about 3 miles on the bus where I now live. So who needs the parking hassles today or ever increasing insurances and service costs. Whether they are internal combustion, electric or clockwork, who cares. I bought my first cell phone for £1500 around 1985 in the UK. It was heavy and clumsy but over the years with research and development they became slimmer and more convenient and above all much cheaper to buy. So once they perfect the electric car, they will become much cheaper will they???
